January 26, 2017, marked The Miami Foundation’s 50th anniversary when a group of forward-thinking Greater Miami residents connected people, ideas, and philanthropic resources to improve life in this community forever.

Every Miamian, like our founders, has a story: how you came here, why you stay here, and what you value about this community. To amplify those narratives, we invited people to share their stories and become champions for causes that matter to them. Our hope was to foster a deeper relationship between residents and their community and to take ownership of its future by investing in the issues they care about. The historic way residents stepped up inspires us as we look toward the next 50.
